Removing asbestos during a remodel

We bought our house knowing it needed a fair bit of work, but we could never have guessed how complicated the job would get in the end. It turns out not only do we have asbestos in the walls, but also, at some point, the previous owners had some asbestos insulation put in the roof. There are a lot more precautions that we need to make as result but, I'll feel a lot better knowing we aren't cooking and eating our meals near asbestos. Our remodeling contractor has been great and has stepped us through the whole process. Join us on our remodeling journey!

Why Vinyl Cladding Is One of the Most In-Demand Cladding Choices for Homes

by Joanne Sullivan

Is your house cladding damaged beyond repair? If so, a full cladding replacement may be needed to protect your home's exterior from direct exposure to inclement weather and the elements. With so many different cladding options available on the construction market, you might be wondering which type of cladding to choose for your home remodel. If you are looking to go for a top-notch cladding choice, vinyl cladding should be on your radar.

Here's what makes vinyl cladding one of the most popular cladding choices for Australian homeowners.

Vinyl Is a Practical Cladding Choice for Homes

House cladding is installed is to protect the exterior surfaces or finishing of a house from the elements. For a material to serve its purpose as cladding for a house, it should be able to provide adequate resistance against weather damage.

Vinyl is the perfect material for house cladding because it is designed to resist a variety of damage caused by strong weather conditions, including rot, warping, splintering, mildew, mould, rusting, corrosion, sagging, peeling and many more types of damage. This means that vinyl cladding is a low-maintenance cladding option — it only requires a little maintenance to keep it looking pristine. In fact, all you need to do to keep your vinyl cladding looking like new is occasionally spray it down with a garden hose.

Vinyl Is an Aesthetic Cladding Option for Homes

These days, many homeowners understand the important role that their house cladding plays in impacting the kerb appeal of the property. This is why it is critical to choose a cladding material that is functional but also has the right aesthetic.

Vinyl house siding is available in a range of decorative colours and styles to complement your house style and landscape. If you're a traditionalist at heart, you can opt for vinyl cladding products that mimic the look of wood, such as decorative vinyl with a cedar-like look.

Vinyl Is a Cost-Effective Cladding Option for Homes

Another thing that makes vinyl cladding appealing to many homeowners is its affordability. Vinyl cladding is one of the cheapest cladding choices on the construction market, and this attribute makes it an excellent option for price-savvy homeowners.

A highly practical, aesthetic, and cost-effective cladding option, vinyl cladding offers great value to homeowners who are looking to protect their homes from weather damage.
